More than 7700 visitors came to experience the history for themselves at The Strike At Imperial Typewriters Exhibition in Newarke Houses Museum, Leicester. The exhibition feedback could not be better.

Typewriters reached the Leicester community and beyond in several ways. Visitors to the exhibition totalled 7,700, including 353 at community events. 1,102 users visited the project website and the exhibition generated over 150,000 Twitter impressions.

The exhibition secured peak morning and evening interview spots on BBC East Midlands News (estimated audience over 500,000); radio coverage including community outreach calls and profiles of project participants on BBC Radio Leicester (estimated audience over 200,000), Sabras Radio (estimated audience 20,000 – 30,000); and digital features on BBC Online, Leicester Mercury, Visit Leicester, The Socialist Party, and The Socialist Worker about the exhibition and impact of the strikes.
